Yet Another Perl Conference Details Released

By Doug Caverly

Perl professionals who haven't already packed the June sections of their calendars full of activities might want to pay attention. More details concerning the Yet Another Perl Conference have been announced, and it's shaping up to be a really nice shindig.

YAPC|10, as the conference is called (think 10-year anniversary), will take place at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Things will start on June 22nd and end on the 24th. A nice dinner should be held sometime in the middle.

The list of speakers is still forming since a deadline for proposals won't hit until April 24th, but this just means that there's still time to nudge things in a direction you'll enjoy. Encourage your favorite Perl experts to toss their hats in the ring, or apply to become a presenter yourself if you want.

As for some other details, dorm rooms are supposed to be available for people looking to save a little money, and the Quality Inn's agreed to honor special group rates for conference attendees who want a different atmosphere.

Prices for YAPC|10 itself are quite reasonable, too. If you commit before March 24th, a "10th Anniversary Special" discount will be applied and the conference will only cost $99. You'll face a standard charge of $125 if you only get on the list before June rolls around. And from June 1st onward, late registrants will have to find $150.
